Tree description
The tree is between 40 and 60 meters high. The straight, cylindrical trunk is branch-free up to 20 to 30 meters and has a diameter between 90 and 300 cm.
Wood description
The heartwood of okan is a beautiful yellow to golden brown, with an olive green hue. Under the influence of light it becomes reddish-brown, and sometimes copper-colored. The sapwood is light pink and sharply delineated from the heartwood.
