Bart Janssens of AIM is drawing a construction with Il Cielo in Kasterlee, a building that daringly questions the epithet 'building'. When the project does not yet have a specific interpretation, he bases the design on aspects other than purely practical in order to optimally facilitate various functions in the future. This creates an exciting two-way communication with the environment. The design aesthetically demands its place, bundles the place-specific individualities in one unique formal icon that is prominent on the one hand and yet modestly positioned between the inspiring natural elements on the other.
Kasterlee, the pearl of the Kempen, has an additional architectural gem that transcends a provincial town in several respects.
This building is anything but a compromise. It shows courage but also and above all vision.
